Brazilian Data Protection Law (LGPD)

In view of the General Data Protection Regulation No. 13,709 of 14.08.2018 (LGPD), we have adapted our processes so that our partnership is fully within current regulations, and we can work safely. Therefore, we validate the end user's registration and Redeem data to ensure the accuracy of the information.

Validations consist of:

  • Obligation to request the following data in all systems and platforms: CPF, full name and date of birth.

  • It will not be possible to redeem using an invalid CPF.

  • It will not be possible to redeem using a non-existent CPF.

    • For both cases involving CPF mentioned above, we leave a suggestion of an error warning: "We found inconsistency in your personal data. It will not be possible to proceed with the redeeming in this CPF. Please contact customer service."
    • If the end user contacts your store's support after receiving this notice, the support may respond as follows, after verifying the data: "It was identified that your data is not regular in the registrations in public organizations. Try again after regularization or we may reverse your purchase."
  • Name validation must follow the rule of validating the first name and at least one correct last name, validating any last name entered according to public organizations data. Therefore, this data must also be correct. It is worth mentioning that due to this validation, it is possible to abbreviate or even not inform one of the middle names.

  • Examples of name validations:

    • João da Silva ✔️
    • João Mendes ✔️
    • João da Silva Mendes Júnior ✔️
    • Silva Mendes ❌
    • Mendes Júnior ❌
    • João Júnior Mendes ❌
    • João da Silva Júnior ❌
  • All data provided must belong to the same person. If the data is not valid, an error message should be displayed.

    • Here, we leave a suggestion of an error warning: "We found inconsistency in your personal data. Make sure the information matches your ID. Remember that all data must be real and belong to the same person."
    • If the end user contacts your store's support after receiving this notice, support must verify the registered data and, if necessary, question whether it belongs to the same person.
  • No person under the age of 13 should be able to redeem products. If the information provided is for a child under 13 years old, an error message should be displayed.

    • Here, we leave a suggestion of an error warning: "Please check your data. If you are under 13 years of age, ask your parent or legal guardian to redeem the product."
    • If minors contact your store's support, it is necessary to instruct them to look for someone of legal age who is legally responsible for them to redeem the product.

Terms and Conditions of Use and Data Sharing

Our API already sends the Terms and Conditions page approved by the developers to your store.

note

The Terms and Conditions must be presented before finalizing the purchase.

That's because your end user needs to have access to that notice and that specific page beforehand.

This also helps your store avoid further problems with the law and game developers.

In addition, you ensure that your end user has a greater understanding of the redeeming process, exchange requests, cancellations, software sharing, etc.

Here, we leave two suggestions on how to insert the Terms and Conditions on your website or app:

Terms and Conditions information in checkbox format

Figure - Terms and Conditions information in checkbox format

Terms and Conditions information in plain text format

Additionally, we leave a suggestion of phrase to be used, where your store clearly warns that the data will be shared:

"By continuing, you accept the Terms and Conditions and the sharing of data between the companies responsible for the transaction."

note

Access to the Terms and Conditions must always be done via a hyperlink.

In accordance with the rules described in the General Data Protection Regulation No. 13,709 of 14.08.2018 (LGPD), data from children under 13 years of age are not accepted and, in the event that such data is shared, it is always necessary to notify the end user.

With that in mind, this topic is already included in the Terms and Conditions provided by Hype Games.

If you want to make this information visible in your store, it can be included at the end of the individual product page or on the purchase confirmation screen.

Here, we leave a suggestion on how to notify this on your website or app:

"The partner company does not intentionally collect data from children (under 13 years old). If you are under 13 years of age, ask your parent or legal guardian to redeem the product." In this case, we suggest that there is preferably a lock via checkbox so that the end user confirms this before purchase.

note

Your store's Privacy Policy must contain the information that your company shares data with its partners.

Here is the link to the Hype Games Privacy Policy to be made available in your own Privacy Policy.

Environment change notification

According to the rules described in the General Data Protection Regulation No. 13,709 of 14.08.2018 (LGPD), the end user needs to be aware of when they changes browsing and purchasing environment.

That is, if your store chooses to continue with the No branding redeem modality, our page will have the following information:

"You are in a partner environment to redeem your product."

In this way, we guarantee compliance with current legislation.
